Upon enrollment in the Department, each new student is assigned a faculty member to serve as their Academic Advisor.
The aim is to provide every student with the necessary support to meet the general demands of university studies. This support involves monitoring each individual's specific interests, ensuring that their scientific and professional specialization is gradually tailored to their personality and their subjective and objective capabilities. Additionally, the Academic Advisor can assist with difficulties or problems arising during student life, to the extent of their ability.
The Academic Advisor maintains regular contact with their assigned students. Meetings may take place individually in the advisor's office or in groups—either on university premises, at the Student Club, or at off-campus locations chosen by mutual agreement.
The Advisor's duties include:
- Monitoring each individual's aptitudes and guiding them toward fields that suit them. Assistance in structuring the student's individual semester study plan, particularly regarding the selection of a specialization track and the determination of the thesis topic.
- Provision of information and guidance on career orientation based on the student's personal interests.
- Provision of information and assistance regarding study abroad, postgraduate studies, scholarships, and all matters concerning the continuation of the academic career after graduation.
- Provision of information and advice on attending seminars and courses outside the university, as well as participating in research programs that contribute to the student's scientific training.
- Facilitation of contact with university authorities, when deemed appropriate.
